Privacy & POPIA Notice

1. Who we are

The responsible party is the KwaZulu-Natal Centre for Rural Development NPC (KZN CRD), registration number 2020/184094/07, 171 Problem Mkhize Road, Morningside, Durban, 4001.

2. What we collect

• Contact form: your name, email, phone number, organisation and message.
• Membership application: organisation details, registration, tax and B-BBEE information, ownership profile, contact person details, social media links, the support you need, successor nominations and the documents you upload.
• Event RSVP: your name, organisation, position, contact details, number of guests and dietary or access needs.
• Website analytics (only if you accept cookies): pages visited, device and browser type and approximate location, collected by Google Analytics.

3. Why we use it

We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, process and administer your membership, manage events, and improve our website. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Who we share it with

Your information is shared only with KZN CRD staff who need it, and with service providers who help us operate: our email provider (to deliver form submissions), our website host, and Google Analytics (if you consent). Membership information may be shared with alliance partners (NAFCOC and the US-Africa Trade Commission) only where needed to deliver a benefit you have asked for, such as a trade mission.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for up to 2 years. Membership records are kept for the duration of membership and up to 5 years afterwards for governance and audit purposes. Event RSVPs are deleted within 12 months of the event.

6. How we protect it

Forms are protected against automated abuse, submissions are sent over encrypted connections, and stored copies are kept in a location that cannot be accessed from the web.

7. Cookies

We use analytics cookies only after you click Accept on the cookie banner. A technical session cookie is used when you submit a form to protect it from abuse. You can change your choice at any time: Cookie settings

8. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
